Finny Maguire continued his excellent record for Dermot Weld when booting 5/6 favourite Vigil home in the bumper at Leopardstown.
Patrick Mullins looked to have got first run on Bellshill along the rail, but Maguire kept cajoling Vigil and he chipped away at the lead before getting on terms a furlong out and forging on for a length verdict.
Dermot Weld said: "He gave him a confident ride. He's had three rides for me with two winners and a second. He rides with a lot of confidence, listens to what you tell him and delivers.
"I'd say that was a decent bumper with two good horses. I'll have to check if he's eligible for Cheltenham with the number of runs he's had. If he's eligible he'll go there.
"He's been a long time off and will improve. That's why he didn't knock him about and there is a lot more to come.
"In time he'll go on and make a nice hurdler. He has went around in a schooling hurdle and jumped well."
Vigil brought up Dermot Weld's double at Foxrock as Windsor Park had earlier scored in the maiden hurdle.
Paddy Power gave Vigil a first show of 12/1 for the Champion Bumper.
