Three times bumper winner Clondaw Warrior made a winning debut for trainer Willie Mullins at Tramore today, effortlessly winning the Bet Online At thetote.com Handicap under jockey Bill Lee.
The ex-Shark Hanlon trained seven year old gelding was having his first run for a year and having been priced early-doors at 3/1 despite being first reserve, those odds soon collapsed. At the off, Clondaw Warrior was returned 8/11 favourite and bolted up for an eight lengths win over Annagh Haven 0AThe winner was having his first run since joining Mullins and was racing off a flat mark of just 52. The winning Act D Wagg Syndicate includes jockeys Ruby Walsh and David Casey and their respective wives, Gillian and Aine.
Following the win Lee stated "I didn't know much about the horse but he travelled well through the race and they went a good gallop. He got there easy and he won well."
The winner is double-entered for Roscommon on Tuesday.
