Na Trachtalai Abu timed his challenge to perfection to land the extended three mile handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan. Presenting Julio travelled well and picked up the lead on the home bend. He soon set sail for home but coming to the last Na Trachtalai Abu was stalking him.
Mark Walsh had Na Trachtalai Abu on terms with Presenting Julio at the last and his mount had too much in the locker as he strode on to win by half a length at 12/1.
Presenting Julio (6/1) had to settle for second. The pair pulled clear of Jump For Dough (4/1) who was a further 10 lengths adrift in third.
Walsh was booting home his second winner on the card having scored on Dont Kick Nor Bite in the mares' hurdle.
This was Na Trachtalai Abu's first race since October last year. It was the seven-year-old's third career victory.
Owner Brian Acheson said: “James (Motherway) has shown great patience with him and Mark gave him a lovely ride. He’s a summer horse and likes the good ground."
