Vault makes gutsy winning debut
The Aidan O'Brien-trained Vault made a successful debut under Colm O'Donoghue in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
The Danehill Dancer colt was an easy to back 7/2 chance as early morning support (at 11/2) for Jessica Harrington's Dragon Pulse followed through on the track to send him off the 5/2 favourite.
Vault was never far off the pace, holding a slight advantage over a furlong out before Dragon Pulse threw down what looked a threatening challenge.
However O'Donoghue's mount stuck at it well inside the final furlong to hold on by a head, with Jemima's Pearl (6/1, from 8's) another three quarters of a length back in third.
