Tyner/Enright continue to make big impact

Robert Tyner and stable jockey Philip Enright, who combined for a 404/1 treble at Clonmel on Thursday, completed a memorable 48 hours by landing the €50,000 Aidan Fogarty & Ashgrove Stables Shamrock Handicap Chase with Instant Impacked at Gowran Park.
The ten-year-old just crept into the handicap proper off 9st12lb in this 2m2f feature event and the light burden proved crucial as he stormed to the front on the run-in. Followmeuptocarlow appeared the likely winner when smoothly striking the front three out, although he’d come under pressure as Instant Impacked closed approaching the last.
The leader drifted right on the run-in, and Enright just had enough room to squeeze Instant Impacked through a gap against the far rail before going on to score by two and a quarter lengths.
The pair stretched 11 lengths clear of 5/2 favourite Treat Yourself in third.
Tyner said, “He was entered at Clonmel but I decided to come here instead as he’d such a light weight. He just sneaked into the handicap and it’s a fantastic prize to win.”
