Tusa steps up with experience
As he was on his debut Tusa Eire was strong in the market, but on outing number two he went a place better by winning the Ratoath (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race under Patrick Mullins at Fairyhouse.
The victorious Turtle Island gelding, owned by Monread Stud, got the better of Well Regarded by two and a half lengths after travelling well into the lead at the furlong pole.
Winning trainer Willie Mullins said: "He was very green going to Naas the first day as he hadn't done as much as a lot of my bumper horses and it showed. He learned a lot from that and he won quite well today.
"He'll stick to bumpers this season and I think he's good enough to win a winners event."
Big morning market-mover, Lady Knightess – 12s into 4s - was ridden and she weakened from three furlongs out, eventually fading to beat only one home.
Meanwhile Tusa Eire got a quote of 20/1 for the Cheltenham bumper from Stan James.
