The Pat Fahy trained Treacy's Star overcame a pulled up effort at Tramore recently to land the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase at Punchestown today, winning well under Brian Hayes.
The daughter of Millenary was the well backed even money favourite to win a similar handicap at Tramore on New Year's Day but, under Ruby Walsh, never landed a blow and eventually pulled up.
However she returned to her best form today, improving to lead at the third last fence and eventually skipping clear for a comfortable win.
Afterwards Fahy stated "the ground was too heavy for her at Tramore the last day; it had rained all day and she just couldn't go through it but luckily Ruby minded her or we wouldn't have been here today.
"She was very sour last year, and it's taken a lot to sweeten her up. She likes big fences, two and a half miles and she also seems to like this place.
"The breeder John Kenny is a friend of mine for a long time, and most of the syndicate are from Durrow."
