Ton up for Mullins with Express
The Kilmeadan Racing Syndicate from Co. Waterford enjoyed some great days with Ballyhampshire Boy before that fellow got killed and Hampshire Express formerly with Sean Aherne, and having his second outing for Willie Mullins, gave them another day to remember when he landed a gamble in the Happy Valentines Day Handicap Hurdle.
Paul Townend arrived there travelling well on the Dushyantor gelding (8s in the morning into 4/1 favourite) and he didn't have to get serious with his mount to go away and prevail by a convincing five and a half lengths.
Mullins commented: "That was grand. He was a bit disappointing in Leopardstown and the lighter weight probably helped him here. He'll stick to the same trip now and go for another handicap. That's the hundredth winner of the season for me."
