Henry de Bromhead has his team in good order at present, and Tisamystery provided the Knockeen trainer with another success in the Watch The Breeders’ Cup Live On At The Races Rated Chase at Clonmel.
The eight-year-old gelding, whose two previous wins included a maiden hurdle at this venue back in 2013, attracted support at double-figure prices this morning and was further backed on track from 8/1 into 5/1.
The eight-runner 2m4f event proved a highly competitive affair with five of the octet separated by only about a length at the last. Eight Till Late fell while close up at that point but Tisamystery stayed on under pressure for Brian Hayes on the run-in to score by half a length. Lip Service came home well in second, with By The Banks holding every chance another half-length away in third.
De Bromhead said, "Brian gave him a super ride and he saw it out well which was good as it opens up some more options for him.
"He was 2lbs wrong at the weights but it was a suitable race and I felt he didn't stay the last day. He has earned a break at this stage and he is a good ground horse."
