Thunder Run wins for the Walsh family
Ruby Walsh rounded a up a good day at Sligo when winning the Terry Casey Memorial Handicap Chase aboard Thunder Run trained by his father Ted Walsh making it a four timer for the jockey.
Walsh was never too far off the pace on the Silver Patriarch gelding and was left in front after the exit of Liffey Side four out and the pair kept on well for a one and three parts of the length win.
Winning jockey Walsh said afterwards: “Sligo has been a lucky spot for me ever since I started riding. To get one winner is great but to get four is absolutely brilliant.”
“Majestic Concorde was the class horse of the day and it’s great when the class horse comes out and wins.”
