Three up for Nolan at Limerick

Sun 13th Mar 2011, 16:57

Paul Nolan completed a 140/1 treble when Politeo ran out a convincing nine length winner of the Mullins Electrical Beginners Steeplechase at Limerick.

Davy Russell was aboard this Gigginstown House Stud-owned French-bred son of Lando and he got to the head of affairs after three out on the way to accounting for Beckwith Star and the staying-on Conrich

James Nolan, representing his brother Paul, said: "That was an ordinary contest and I thought that Mouse's horse (Baily Rock) was the danger until he came out. He jumped great. Davy said he was deadly to jump.

"He probably wants better ground and I hope the handicapper gives him a chance now."

Nolan had earlier teamed up with Jim Mernagh and jockey Michael Doran to take the two most important events on the programme with Golden Sunbird and Aura About You
