The feature race at Limerick this evening, the Grant Thornton Novice Chase over 2m 3f, went to the 11/8 favourite (from 11/10) Baily Green for Mouse Morris with David Casey aboard.
The 6yo son of King’s Theatre completed his hat-trick of novice chase wins this evening after scoring with ease at Roscommon on his last two outings.
The bay gelding made virtually all today and jumped well throughout. He put in a great jump at the second last and he asserted away from that fence, staying on well to score by a comfortable three lengths at the line.
The Jessica Harrington trained Gimli’s Rock couldn’t match the winner and had to settle for second under Tommy Treacy at 7/1.
Winning trainer Mouse Morris said afterwards: "He was a joy to watch. I would nearly ride him myself!
"He won’t go to Galway as it will probably be soft there and he needs good ground.
He will probably go to Killarney or Listowel next."
