Tawaazon continued a fine run of form for James McAuley when justifying a short price in the Bright Software Handicap at Bellewstown.
Colin Keane tracked the leaders on the 11/10 favourite in the five furlong contest before sending his mount to the front over a furlong from home.
The Invincible Spirit gelding galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter success over It'll Do My Day
It was a third win in four starts since the five-year-old joined McAuley and he said:-
“That was brilliant. He's surprising us with how quick he is.
“When we claimed him we were hoping he'd do something and he'd be a fun horse. We ran him over six and were shocked at how well he travelled so dropped him back to five and Colin said he's improving away.
“He's tanking through races now and keeps surprising us.
“Our yard is absolutely surrounded by rapeseed so we're keeping busy now because everyone says when you get that your summer could be gone.
“We'll keep them busy and if it starts affecting them at least they've been tipping away. We've got a salt room in and they tell me that will give them some assistance with the pollen count but I don't know.
“It obviously hasn't affected them yet but you get up in the morning and see every field around yellow. I think a lot of trainers are in the same boat now as it seems to be a year in which they are doing it.
“That's why we want to keep banging away. He'll rock up at the Curragh next weekend again.
“He's not really having races, he's on the bridle until a furlong out.”
