Favourite Brick By Brick had looked sure to justify his market position in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden (Plus 10 Race) but he was mown down in the opener at Bellewstown by Golden Spell
The first runner and winner for Al Kazeem, a four-time Group 1 winning racehorse and sub-fertile sire, Golden Spell built on her debut third placing from 18 days back to beat Brick By Brick by a neck.
Johnny Murtagh trains the Colin Keane-ridden juvenile for Qatar Racing Limited.
Keane said: "She was good and game. She is more of a six-furlong filly really, and the further she was going the better. She's very genuine."
