Star has the Power for Bolger/Manning
Kevin Manning and Jim Bolger teamed up to take the concluding Celebrating 50 Years Of Harp Lager Maiden with Star Power although the race was unfortunately marred by a three horse pile-up in the closing stages.
The son of Galileo was never far from the pace, and kept on under pressure for Manning to beat Louisville Lip by a length and three quarters, with Kalann a further two and a half lengths back in third.
However the real drama occurred behind as the ill-fated Tuscan Ridge (Oliver Casey) slipped up inside the final 50 yards, and brought down both French Doll (Keagan Latham) and Flamingo Flame (Niall McCullagh). Thankfully all three riders were able to walk away from the incident.
