Ice Cold Soul just repelled the late surge of Nobody Home to land the spoils in the www.thurlesraces.ie Handicap Chase this afternoon.
Eoin Walsh partnered his third winner of the month as he produced the Noel Meade-trained gelding to lead before the final fence in the two-mile-five contest.
Having gotten to the front the Gigginstown gelding had to hold on in the closing stages as Nobody Home finished well on the run-in to get within a neck at the line.
The 13/2 winner had finished mid-division on his first attempt in handicap company over fences at Leopardstown over Christmas.
"I thought if he was anything near his old self that he'd nearly have to win with the 7lbs (claim) off his back, but he needed the 7lbs!” said Meade.
"He hasn't been easy to train and has had plenty of leg trouble and is a lad who we can't do a lot of work with and we keep him ticking over nicely.
"He'll go for something similar again and I wouldn't rule out going back over hurdles at some stage.
“He jumped better today than he had because his jumping had been a bit of a problem for him over fences.
"Eoin is flying."
