Nina Carberry was seen to good effect on board Kieran Purcell's Smokey Joe Joe in Bellewstown's bumper.

The four-year-old saw support in the offices in the morning as his price contracted from 11/8 to even money. The gamble continued on course as he went off 4/6 favourite.

Smokey Joe Joe saw off the fast finishing Sobrando Lodge by a length and three quarters with She Will Return plodding on gamely for third after cutting out much of the running.

Winning trainer Kieran Purcell said: "He is a very nice horse. He won his point to point by a distance. Nina gave him a smashing ride. He'll go for a winners' bumper next."
