Trainer Charles Byrnes finished off a successful Galway festival yesterday with his gambled winner Mr Smith and today bagged the Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle at Cork with heavily supported 4/6 favourite Sky Marshal
Byrnes registered two winners including Mr Smith, which was backed late-on from 16/1 to 8s, at last week's festival and today's winner Sky Marshal was one of his six beaten horses for the week.
Today Sky Marshal made much of the running before scoring an easy six lengths win over Pike County
Byrnes wasn't present and afterwards jockey Brouder stated "he had a good run at Galway (finished third) and had been knocking on the door for a while.
"The last horse (Byrnes' Give Battle I rode in the earlier race was just unlucky but I had luck in my corner there."
