Well-backed 2/1 shot Shamreen reversed form with favourite, Best In The World on their Give Thanks Stakes meeting from Cork on August 2nd, when putting in a very brave display to win the Group 2 Moyglare 'Jewels' Blandford Stakes at the Curragh.
Pat Smullen 's mount simply wasn't for passing from the front, and she had half a length in hand over Best In The World at the line.
Winning trainer Dermot Weld said: "She is a very consistent filly and it was a very good ride by Pat. He was keen to make all, and she worked well the other morning using those tactics.
"That is her trip and we will look at the Prix de l'Opera."
Meanwhile the Master of Rosewell said of Irish Champion Stakes eighth placer, Harzand: "I've not had time to review the race yet but he was badly chopped early on.
"He's very sore this morning and lame. His right hind leg is badly bruised, and it was a brave performance considering what happened.
"We will have to see how he is before making any decision on the Arc."
Meanwhile Paddy Power and Betfair go 16/1 first show about Shamreen for the Prix de l'Opera.
