Seepeeoh wins dramatic Thurles opener
Liz Doyle enjoyed another slice of luck, following on from her Pennys Bill's somewhat fortunate win in the Pierce Hurdle in January, at Thurles today when she saddled Seepeeoh to win the faller-packed opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginners Chase.
Ridden by Sean Flanagan, Seepeeoh looked booked for third spot, behind leaders Cru and Here Comes Sally on the run to the last fence, in a race which had seen its share of fallers already.
However, both Cru and Here Comes Sally both toppled at the last, leaving Seepeeoh to come home a fortunate seven lengths winner.
Afterwards Doyle reported "the 2m2f trip was a bit short for Seepeeoh, she needs 2m4f to 2m6f, and that was why we made the running with her. I won a point to point and a bumper on her."
