Royale the king at Clonmel
Smart five time Flat winning miler Mojito Royale got off the mark over hurdles at Clonmel today, getting the better of a four-way photo finish to win the Cashel Maiden Hurdle.
The Eoin Doyle trained gelding narrowly got his head in front on the run-in but was strongly pressed all the way to the line by runner-up Goban Saor with a head and short head back to the placed horses.
Afterwards Doyle stated “Mojito Royale is a summer horse but I thought this was a good opportunity to win a maiden – he'll be left off now for a break.”
