Hat-trick seeker Credo Star heads the cast for the www.roscommonracecourse.ie Rated Novice Hurdle over two miles at the Connacht track on Tuesday evening.
The drying ground should not phase Peter Fahey's five-year-old mare who began her winning run in a good-ground maiden hurdle at Wexford in April. A rated novice hurdle in Sligo was subsequently landed in decisive fashion last month.
She is the highest-rated of the six runners on a mark of 123, but will likely face a stiff challenge from Space Ship who is chasing his own treble, and recent Ballinrobe winner Mr Boss Man Riviera Sun has plenty of form in the book to boost his chances. His victory over My Manekineko at Limerick was franked by the latter on Saturday. Jesmond Lodge improved markedly in Tramore when beaten a neck into second and she has sound prospects in the Follow Us On Facebook Maiden Hurdle over two miles.
Jockey Mark Walsh has won this race in two of the last three runnings, so A Great View looks the danger. Shaiyzar has only gone up 4lb for winning a 20-runner contest at Down Royal and that big-field experience can help him in the Ivan Connaughton Auctioneer Handicap Hurdle, where he faces 17 rivals. Gangster makes his first racecourse appearance for Willie Mullins and Gigginstown in the Harry Farrell Memorial Maiden Hurdle and commands obvious respect. Wood Breizh goes for Mullins in the Athlone Handicap Hurdle but has been off the track since October. Bishopslough Azorian and Cape Glory can all be considered in an open-looking contest. Na Trachtalai Abu relished three miles in Punchestown and bids to follow up in the Castlerea Handicap Hurdle over the same trip.
Aidan O'Brien 's runners have been doing well in bumpers, so newcomer Oathkeeper catches the eye in the Ladies Day At Roscommon On July 6th Flat Race.
