Rita Levi had been a beaten favourite on six occasions, but those who kept the faith were rewarded at 5/1 when she made the breakthrough under Colin Keane in the Caulfield Industrial Irish EBF Maiden.
Ger Lyons' three-year-old filly repelled fast-finishing Mudlahhim by a neck after being delivered between horses racing past the furlong pole. Dedillon completed the placings a further length away at 6/1.
Assistant trainer Shane Lyons said: "Colin is unreal around these tracks and is strong and is the last man ever to go for his stick.
" To be fair to the filly she looked brilliant and it was the first time ever she looked like a mare than a filly and has taken her racing really well.
"Colin was brilliant but you need to have a horse underneath you."
