Close Review recorded his second racecourse success as he took the Cul Camps Limerick Handicap Chase under Phillip Enright for Richie Rath.

The eleven-year-old son of Close Conflict was last seen finishing a well-beaten seventh behind Too Late To Sell at Punchestown in October, and he was sent off an 8/1 chance here having opened this morning at 16/1.

Settled towards the rear, the victorious black gelding made progress before five out, and he was a close-up sixth on the approach to the straight.

He came with his challenge before the second last, and he soon led after that fence, going on from there to score by five lengths despite making mistake at the last. Line View finished second under Andrew McNamara for James Dullea at 8/1, while Shin A Vee who almost unseated at the fifth, was a further six and a half lengths back in third under Andrew Lynch for Denis Cullen at 7/1. Ard Agus Fada went off the 9/2 favourite (from 6/1 on-course) and he was another four and a half lengths back in fourth under Andrew Ring for Philip Rothwell.

Phillip Enright said afterwards: "Richard thought he was pretty straight coming here today.

"He hasn’t many miles on the clock for an eleven-year-old. He jumped every fence great except for the last one."
