Relay got up in the dying strides to land the spoils in the mile handicap at Dundalk.
Front-runner Toberton looked set to collect when getting his rivals on the stretch early in the straight.
Chris Hayes got a great tune from Relay inside the final furlong, however, and she grabbed Toberton close home to gain a neck verdict.
The Jim Gorman-trained winner had faded when she had tried to make the running herself over seven here last time having been runner-up over this trip on her previous start.
There was support for the Clodovil filly this morning (12/1 into 13/2) and she was returned a 7/1 shot on course after opening at 6/1.
“She's tough and stayed well,” said Gorman afterwards.
“I thought she had a real chance today as the time before over this trip was a good run. We'll keep going in these handicaps. She ran over five furlongs in England but that is too short for her.”
