Red Laser continued the excellent run of success for trainer Michael Halford and jockey Shane Foley at Dundalk when justifying 5/2 favourism to win the Dundalk Stadium - Light Up Your Night Handicap this evening.
The winner, carrying the colours of Dubliner Mark Phelan, moved to the front early in the straight before staying on well for a two and a quarter lengths win over Stoichkhov with Indigo Iris (16/1 into 10s on track) third.
Halford later stated “Red Laser has been consistent and seven furlongs might have suited him although he does get a mile. He's genuine and always runs a good race and likes being handy.”
