Red Gerry (15/8 fav) was a convincing four length winner of the concluding Buy Tickets Online @TipperaryRaces.ie Maiden for Noel Meade and Colin Keane.
The first-time blinkered Canford Cliffs gelding hadn’t enjoyed the best of luck in running on his previous couple of starts in handicaps, but back in maiden company things went much more smoothly.
He was produced to lead between horses over a furlong down and stretched away from Rayounpour (4/1), with Lake Macquarie (8/1) another three and a quarter lengths away in third.
“He’s been a bit unlucky on his last few runs and he deserves that win, said the winning rider Keane.
"The blinkers probably helped him to concentrate, and hopefully he’ll go on to bigger and better things.
“He’s quite versatile trip wise, and no doubt he’ll be jumping hurdles at some stage.”
