Rasmeyaa ran out an impressive winner of the opening fillies maiden at Leopardstown this afternoon.

Dermot Weld 's charge was strongly supported from 13/8 into 11/8 (5/2 in morning) and punters never had a moments worry.

Pat Smullen produced the New Approach filly to lead early in the straight and she stayed on strongly in the closing stages to post a five-and-a-half length verdict over Kerisa

The winner had shaped with plenty of promise when third in Listed company on her Curragh debut and Weld believes she will progress into a smart sort.

"She ran a lovely race at the Curragh in a stakes race and I was very pleased with her first time up," said Weld.

"She's very good - a very talented filly. Obviously we see her as a group filly for next year and we'll look at a Guineas trial in the spring.

"She would like better ground and Pat said it's slower than you think out there. A mile is no problem to her. She does everything right. She has speed and stays."

Weld also revealed that he will have two runners at the Breeders Cup meeting in Santa Anita next Friday.

"Sense Of Purpose will run in the Marathon. She didn't get her ground all year and loves fast ground.

"The Marathon is on dirt and I've worked her at Dundalk and she handled it well.

"Speaking Of Which will run in the Twilight Derby which is a three-year-old race on the Turf and is a Grade 2."
