Noel Meade’s Farceur Du Large (1/1) was a beaten favourite for the third time running in the Colm Quinn BMW 4-y-o INH Flat Race as he dropped out before the straight to finish sixth.
The in-form trainer landed the first prize in any event as newcomer Powerful Ted (14/1) galloped clear for an eight length win from Don Diablo (5/2), with another six lengths back to Freedom To Dream (7/1) in third.
It was a fifth career win (his first was in May) for promising 7lbs claimer Eoin Walsh.
The winner was bred and is owned by Athenry-based Martin Cullinane, and he raced the dam Haaf OK who won over a mile at Bellewstown when in the care of Michael Halford.
"He is named after Ted Walsh junior who joined our team recently, said winning trainer Noel Meade.
"I was going to name him Power-something-else but Ted said 'you can't call him that' so we named him Powerful Ted.
"Obviously we fancied the other horse but I don't know why he ran as bad as he did, although maybe he is not a bumper horse.
"We knew this lad wasn't too bad and had worked very well. I thought the ground might catch him out a bit but obviously not and I'd say he is a decent horse and has a good pedigree on the dam's side.
"He jumps very well, is not over-big but keeps galloping.
"Martin (Cullinane) who owns and bred him is at a wedding and couldn't come. Martin sells all his horses and the plan would be to sell him."
