Potters relishes switch to chasing game

After Samcro's concluding race victory at Fairyhouse yesterday Gigginstown House Stud and Gordon Elliott began in a similar fashion today as the well-supported Potters Point landed the Flynn Management & Contractors Supporting Ratoath GAA Race Day EBF Beginners Chase.
Like Samcro Potters Point is a former Colin Bowe trained point-to-pointer that ran at the County Wexford venue of Monksgrange.
Second in his 'point,' chasing was always going to be Potters Point's game, and on his first go over racecourse fences he did everything right in the hands of Jack Kennedy.
Jessica Harrington 's mare Flaviana proved a doughty opponent in the hands of Robbie Power, but Potters Point fended her off on the run-in for a half a length win.
Gigginstown and Elliott also had Delegate in the mix. Bryan Cooper was on that one but he went off a 12/1 chance and finished ninth.
"That was grand, it was a bit of a surprise," said Elliott on 4/1 third market choice Potters Point.
"Jack said he did it well, he travelled and he jumped. There is probably a bit of improvement in him.
"I'd say he appreciated the better ground with his wind."
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Pyromaniac trained by A.J.Martin, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
S.J.Mahon, trainer of Rocky Court reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge which pulled up before the final hurdle was found to be lame post race
