Poet''s Pride gained a fourth career success at Dundalk today as the David Marnane trained six year old landed the opening Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk Handicap under jockey Bill Lee.
The son of Arcano had won twice previously in 2019 when trained in Britain by David Barron and today scored a length and three parts win over It's All A Joke
Jockey Lee later reported “he ran a good race the last day when nothing went on and I ended up making it, which wasn't ideal.
“I felt he had improved from that with the experience of the sprinting. He's quite a strong travelling horse and he likes to jump and go, so this is starting to suit him.
“He got there going well and he's won well at the line. You'd be hoping that if he gets his act together there will be one or two more in him.
“He's a horse that has maybe found a good trip for him and he's won well today. When I won on him the last time he went off the boil a bit after but hopefully he can keep himself in good form and there will be other days in him.”
