Poetic Choice returns to winning ways at Dundalk
Poetic Choice wins for Robbie Downey

Poetic Choice recorded her third win over a mile at Dundalk when landing the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Apprentice Handicap.
The seven-year-old mare was coming here off the back of 18 runs without a win but had slipped down to a mark of 64 having been rated in the mid-70’s at the start of the winter season.
Robbie Downey has been on board for all three of those Polytrack victories, and sent the 7/1 chance to the front a furlong out.
Keith Clarke ’s charge kept on really well inside the final furlong to beat Ragtime Red by two and a half lengths. Innamorare kept on a further length and a half away in third. Mulzamm ensured a strong pace when building up a clear lead but was reeled in by the pack over a furlong out and eventually finished towards rear.
Clarke said, “We did fancy her as she was back to a winnable mark and was in great nick.
“It's good that the horses are working really well at the beginning of the season. I just want the ground to dry out for a few of them but it's been a good start to the season.”
