Panda-monium as Vinny crashes out
The Grade 1 Deloitte Novice Hurdle produced a fascinating climax as odds on favourite Cousin Vinny stumbled and unseated Patrick Mullins at the last leaving the Noel Meade trained Pandorama in front under Paul Carberry.
Winning trainer Meade said afterwards, "I feel sorry for Willie we are very good friends and you need luck out there and we're all out there to win. I can't emphasis enough that next year is the horse's year and without doubt he's a chaser and we won't sicken him with too much racing this season. The original plan was to go for The Ballymore Properties Hurdle at Cheltenham but we might go for the 3 mile hurdle with him now."
Willie Mullins remarked, "He never jumped a hurdle as quick as he jumped the last and he half knuckled and slipped on landing."
