The Ger Lyons trained outsider-of-three Buenos Y Bobos (9/2) made all to beat a pair of rivals in the concluding jogforjockeys.ie Rated Race at Fairyhouse today, winning under stable jockey Colin Keane.
The son of Big Bad Bob stayed on gamely in the home straight to comfortably beat Postulation with 4/6 favourite Sandro Botticelli in third.
Afterwards Lyons, who earlier sent out two beaten favourites, stated âit was a long night - I thought Mint Chai would win (the opener) and was disappointed and I found out after Chenega Bay s race that the winner couldn't be beaten - if I'd known that I would have stayed at home!
âI genuinely thought I would win this race but with a different horse. The plan changed yesterday morning and I put this lad in.
âI thought he'd get that trip and he's after doing it very well. After that you'd say we ran the wrong horse in the Gallinule. He looks a nice horse for this trip.
âHe lengthened, quickened and love the ground. He has a touch of speed over that trip.â
