Our Roxane (7/2) made all under Kevin Brouder to comfortably land the ConverMax Handicap Hurdle. She scored by ten lengths from Still Alive (5/1), with the 9/4 favourite Shantou Sisu another thirteen lengths away in third place.
The winning rider is having an excellent season, with this 32nd winner of the campaign seeing the 3lbs claimer in sixth place in the jockeys' table.
Placed a couple of times in maiden hurdles last year for her previous handler Ken Budds, the daughter of Flemensfirth, rising nine years of age, was narrowly denied on her previous visit to Greenmount Park in July.
That was on summer ground, and she’d been off since finishing fourth at Tramore in August, but she handled testing conditions perfectly well here as she recorded her breakthrough win.
Winning trainer Terence O'Brien said: "Friends of mine leased her last year and we were disappointed at the start but them she started improving. We had lots of niggly problems with her but she always worked well enough at home to win off her mark.
"I hadn't a clue how she'd react to the ground but obviously she liked it and Flemensfirths normally do go through it. The ground is after improving her a lot and we won't be too ambitious next.
"She is closely related to Lakemilan who we have won races with and she shows plenty at home and I wouldn't be surprised to see her win a few."
