One ride one winner for Geraghty

Barry Geraghty’s sole ride at Kilbeggan (due to nonrunners) was a winning one aboard top-weight Coolnagorna Giggs but he earned his riding fee on the seven-year-old gelding.
After hitting the front upon jumping the second last, Geraghty was seen working hard to keep the 3/1 favourite at the head of proceeding in the three mile one handicap chase.
Present Potential (20/1) and Too Late To Sell (8/1) threw down their challenges after the last, but Geraghty was able to hold on for a half length success from the former. The latter was another half a length down in third having been backed in from 14/1 in the ring.
Tom Hogan trains the seven-year-old and he said: “I had my first winner in the owner Patrick McLoughney’s colours. He is a long-standing owner of mine and I’m delighted to train a winner for him.
“Barry gave him a great ride. I might try him over hurdles as he has a lower handicap mark over hurdles.”
