The Dot Love trained Not A Bad Oul Day made all to justify strong market support in the Ladies Day June 20th At Gowran Park Handicap at Gowran today, winning under Champion Jockey Pat Smullen.
The son of Captain Rio was backed from 12/1 generally this morning into 6/1 favourite at the off and in the end made all for a comfortable three and a half lengths win over Tanneron
Afterwards Ciaran Murphy, assistant to Dot Love, said "he was very fizzy at Navan last week and that's taken the fizziness out of him and he was quite relaxed today.
"We tried to hold him up at Navan but it didn't work and it was great to get drawn one here and let him go. We think there is another handicap in him, and we'll try to get him out again soon."
"The ground was as quick as he'd like it. We took a chance but it paid off. I'd say he'll have no trouble getting a mile.
"The owner Kieran Farnan is from near Newry and that's his first horse in training with us."
