Trainer Paul Nolan and jockey Jonathan Moore have enjoyed excellent spells of form in recent times and the pair combined to win the Sandyford Handicap Chase at Leopardstown today with The Mooch Just Get Cracking had taken the lead from The Mooch from the final fence but that rival failed to maintain the gallop close home as The Mooch rallied well to gain a neck win.
Nolan, having his third winner of the year and his second consecutive Sunday winner at Leopardstown, later stated “he probably would have been second or third if he hadn't fallen at the last at Naas the last day. We'll keep him on the go while he's healthy and well, and we may find a hurdle race for him.
"Jonathan gave him a great brave ride, and the only fence he missed was the last."
Moore has now ridden seven winners since Christmas which includes a big race success in last Sunday's Leopardstown Chase.
