The Pat Martin trained No Way Jack lost his maiden tag on his 17th career start at Limerick today when getting up late to win the Best Of Luck to Patrickswell Gaa in the County Final Apprentice Handicap under a well judged ride from Denis Lenihan.
The son of Thewayyouare made good headway with a furlong to race and squeezed through between horses to lead close home.
Afterwards a relieved Martin stated "that was a long time coming! Maybe his resolution isn't 100% and the way things worked out were ideal for him today as we thought he should definitely come late.
"He loves an ease and we've gone as far as 1m3f at Killarney with him in the past and he is athletic enough to go hurdling. There is a chance he'll go to the Newmarket Sales soon."
