Jockey Rory Cleary dusted himself down from a fall earlier in the day to partner the Sabrina Harty trained Ned's Indian to win the Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap at Dundalk this evening.
Cleary received a fall from from Lady Society (slipped up) in the two year old maiden but was at his best an hour later to force Ned's Indian to a short head win over That's Plenty
Afterwards Harty stated “we were going to let Ned's Indian off on his holidays last week but we schooled him during the week and despite it being two years since he'd seen a hurdle, he was fantastic. We then thought, with the ground then appearing to stay good, we'd give him a spin in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown.
“Next year he'll go for some summer hurdles; he relaxes in his races so it should be easy for him to switch codes. His owner Edward Powell has been fantastic and has trusted us and stuck with us even when he wasn't showing a lot on the course last year.”
