Dysart Diamond and Paul Townend on the way to success

Bumper winner Dysart Diamond (6/5 favourite) didn’t have much bother scoring at the first time of asking over flights in the Tramore Amusement & Leisure Park Maiden Hurdle.
It’s full marks three from three for champion jockey Paul Townend at the Tramore festival 2020, and this one was achieved by two and three parts of a length.
Second market choice Santana Plessis tried to get it done from the front. He couldn’t match Willie Mullins’ Dysart Diamond over the closing couple of flights though.
Her jumping mightn’t have been overly convincing late on but Mullins, on track for the first time since Cheltenham, said: “Paul tells me she did it well. By the time I was through the gate and registered she was jumping the last.
“Paul was quite happy with how she jumped and we'll just go on novice hurdling with her now.
“She had been consistent in bumpers and I think she'll be fine over hurdles, she'll earn her keep.
“It's disappointing owners can't be here but I'm sure Eleanor (Manning) is screaming the house down somewhere, she'll enjoy that.”
The Closutton maestro added: "This is my first outing since Cheltenham. I'm staying out in sympathy with my owners, I'm here as a director today.
"It's great that we have racing, it's fantastic. I'd like to see owners getting back in on the act. They are the first group that have to be looked after."
