Respective Champion Trainer and Jockey Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh were on the mark in the Family Fun Day Sunday 8th May Rated Novice Hurdle at Limerick today, when Bellow Mome got the better of a three-way tussle to the line.
Walsh produced the French bred son of Honolulu with his challenge at the second last and while untidy at the final flight, found more on the run-in to shake off 4/6 favourite A Great View by a head, with half a length back to All Souls which pulled hard in-running, in third.
Mullins was absent but afterwards Walsh stated “it was really testing ground and they were up and down on the spot after the last but he pulled out more on the way to the line.
“There were three horses in line jumping the last so Noel O'Brien (handicapper) seemed to do a good job.”
