Morris has another good filly
An attractive type, Akira got the job done well under Niall McCullagh at Gowran

Owner Max Morris has enjoyed some good days in recent times with his Group 2 winning mare Manieree. He has another nice filly on his hands in Akira who landed the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Gowran.
Like with Manieree, Niall McCullagh was the man doing the steering and he made all on the daughter of Acclamation. She went clear in the final quarter mile on the way to a four and three parts of a length dismissal of Tropical Mist (this well-bred 3yo made an encouraging debut).
The well-backed favourite Danseur De Feu had to settle for a one-paced third whilst Hurry Along in the Sea Diva, among others, silks of Charles O'Reilly, performed well on her first start to finish fourth.
Eoin Doyle, the winning trainer, said: "She did it well. She stood in the stalls the last day (when ninth here on her debut 10 days ago) but she ran on well and we were happy enough with her.
"She could go for a big fillies' handicap in the Curragh over seven furlongs.
"I'd say she'll improve again and I'd say she could be alright." (DM & EM)
