Mireya takes a decent finale at Listowel

Mireya certainly wasn't ignored as a 6/1 shot for the concluding John J. Galvin Maiden Hurdle at Listowel and she proved up to the task in the hands of Martin Burke.
The victorious daughter of Celtic Swing didn't need a second invite when favourite The Job Is Right lost his hind legs on landing at the last. She went on to prevail from that one by two lengths.
Third home Leavethelighton was a big eye-catcher. He pecked when hampered by The Job Is Right's last flight blinder but he still managed to come home well to end up just three parts of a length further back in third in a race that should produce plenty of future winners.
Owner/trainer of Mireya, Cathy Harrison stated in the aftermath: "She's a good little mare and Martin gave her a brilliant ride. He's a great kid but he doesn't get the chances.
"He's not long back from injury and he actually missed a winner for me during that time.
"This one is a tough mare and where she goes next depends on the handicapper." (TW & EM)
