Millstream Lady (9/1) turned last year’s form with old rival Phil’s Choice to win Limerick’s Mr. Binman Mares Handicap Hurdle today, scoring for trainer Eric McNamara and his son jockey Conor McNamara.
The pair fought out last year’s finish and while Millstream Lady today met Phil’s Choice on 2lb worse terms, reversed those placings as she went clear on the run-in to score by 1.25 lengths.
McNamara reported “Millstream Lady made no mistake today against the same opposition and, as she is very small and it was a competitive race, it was a great performance to carry 11st12lb and win. She is a tough little mare, today was the plan so it was great it worked out.
“I’m delighted for the owners who are all Patrickswell and Adare people so this is a huge plus.”
