Michael beats rivals out the Gate
Ado McGuinness’ Beau Michael got the better of a thrilling finish to win the St James’s Gate Novice Chase at Galway today, scoring a second winner of the week for jockey Barry Geraghty.
Beau Michael raced prominently throughout and needed to battle to eventually shrug off the challenge of Armaramak to win by a neck.
Afterwards McGuinness mentioned “Beau Michael picked up well under a super ride having jumped the final two fences brilliantly. We’ll keep him on the go for Killarney and Listowel’s Festivals and may take him to Cheltenham in November before leaving him off for the winter.”
