- Michael back to his best at Tipp
Michael back to his best at Tipp
Beau Michael bounced back to his best when landing the Grade 3 O'Dwyer Steel Novice Steeplechase under Barry Geraghty.
Just six days after finishing third at Roscommon, Beau Michael was left in front four out and he stretched clear from before the straight on the way to easily accounting for Gonebeyondrecall by nine lengths.
Winning trainer Ado McGuinness wasn't present as he had a runner at Kelso but Geraghty did remark: "You'd have to be impressed as he had a tough race at Roscommon on Monday. Conditions were perfect for him out there, plenty of juice in the ground and he did it well."
Beau Michael has been a tremendous servant to his owners, the Total Recall Racing Club, winning his ninth race for them here and he also won on the flat in England before that.
