Champion Jockey Colin Keane and eight-time Champion Jumps Trainer Noel Meade combined for a big priced
double at Gowran today as their very well supported 8/1 chance Harvest Bow landed the Gowran Park Racing Club Nursery Handicap.
Meade and Keane won the earlier race with 20/1 chance Art Of America and while Harvest Bow herself opened a 20/1 chance on track, the daughter of Intikhab did attract plenty late support and was returned an 8/1 shot.
In the race Harvest Bow was produced to lead with a furlong and a half to race and in the end scored a comfortable two and three parts of a length success over Elusive Fantasy
Meade, “I knew when she went back on soft ground she’d be a different kettle of fish. She ran really well in Galway and then she just hated the surface in Dundalk, and it was too quick for her in Down Royal and Naas.
“She worked really well the other day and I was confident enough. If we get soft ground she will go again and I think she’ll get a mile.”
