McNamara/Power win opener at Cork
The opening race of the Cork Easter Festival, The Buttevant Maiden Hurdle was won by the Eric McNamara trained Jafra under Robert 'Puppy' Power in the colours of Mrs Margaret Wilmott.
McNamara said afterwards, "He did it very well, after 3 or 4 runs over hurdles the experience really stood to him as he jumped brilliantly throughout. Robert [Power] gave him a super ride, he was really positive on him. We will see what the handicapper does now and probably go for a handicap hurdle with him and we will keep him going throughout the Summer."
