Coill Na Sionainne took her score to two from five since joining the Willie McCreery team in the Leopardstown Handicap.
Billy Lee was good on the So You Think mare, always to the fore aboard the five-year-old.
Asked to go and win her race a furlong and a half out, the 9/2 scorer, well-backed earlier, galloped on well to beat Never Seen Before by two and a half lengths.
“She’s a good tough hardy filly. The last day here she was a little bit disappointing but she had four hard runs in a row so we just gave her a little break to freshen her up,” said McCreery.
“Dylan Butler rides her the whole time and does a great job on her. He lets her do her own thing and she enjoys life. She’s an older mare and doesn’t need to work.
“The key to her is to keep her happy. She will die for you out there.”
Annalise Cullen, rider of Munfallet trained by D P Coakley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount stood in the stalls and missed the break.
N.G. McCullagh, rider of Lady Savanah trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he had to take a check about half way but overall it made no difference.
The Stewards requested a report from W. McCreery, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Coill Na Sionainne, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Leopardstown on the 14th May when finishing eleventh of nineteen runners. W. McCreery reported that his charge probably ran back too soon at Leopardstown where she boiled over before the race and ran free whereas today the animal was ridden tactically the same but settled very well. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
